FAS Birthday Blog Hop!

I can't quite believe it but it's a year since we launched Fetch A Sketch! What a fun time it has been! We're celebrating with this blog hop and we're very lucky to have some great sponsor prizes up for grabs too! Make sure you check out the main blog for all the details!
You should have come here straight from the main Fetch A Sketch blog and I'm your first blog stop. My card uses my favourite sketch from the year designed by Ruth...

Here's my card...

I've used some great tea cup paper from Funky Hand - all in the Tea's Up! download...

And some cute little tickets from Jellypark...

I just need to figure out who to invite for 3 lots of tea & cake now! ;)

Your next stop on the hop is Lisa Jane! Remember to leave a comment on this post before you go!  Have fun hopping!

Thanks so much for your support over at Fetch A Sketch this year!  We love seeing what you all create!

Fetch A Sketch Time!

This fortnight we've been using Ruth's brilliant sketch as inspiration over at Fetch A Sketch...

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge, Funky Hand & Jellypark, both of which you can see in my card...

I coloured the 'bath girl' Jellypark digi image with Promarkers and layered it onto some heart paper from the 'Love Love Love' Funky Hand download.  I then added a sentiment using Funky Hand Alpha-bits from the 'Tea's Up!' download.  To complete the elements of the sketch I punched out a row of tiny hearts through the whole front layer of the card & interspersed them with some heart stickers from Paperchase.

Take it easy!

Funky Polkadots & Flowers!

It's time for me to share my Get Funky make with you - this month is all about polkadots & flowers...

I've used elements from the brand new CD which is to be released tomorrow (Thursday 31st May) over at Funky Hand - the spotty paper, the blue patterned paper & the templates for the flowers are all on the Wishes & Kisses CD.  All I needed then was some bling!

I'm really loving the new CD and this month's challenge has been fun too. Fancy entering? Get yourself over to Get Funky for all the details!

Fetch A Sketch does Echo Park.

It's the 2nd part of our paper pack challenge over at Fetch A Sketch this week - Ruth & I have challenged the design team (yes we now have a TEAM!  Hello Lou!!!) to use 2 different Echo Park paper packs with this fortnight's sketch...

Last week we used the Little Girl paper pack and this week we've been using the Splash paper pack.  Here's my card...

Yes, more clean & simple this week!  I thought the three lines of waves would be ok for the three lines on the sketch and I hand cut my own little sailing boat. I had intended this card have the two layers of white card like I've been making recently but I went & stuck the paper on the base card without thinking so had to opt for a doodled frame instead.

Yellow card

I made this card for the Less Is More challenge which was to use yellow as inspiration - I totally forgot to enter it in the challenge but thought I'd still share it here!

Echo Park Little Girl Papers; Sizzix Flower & Leaf die #3

I'm still going with the clean & simple style this week!

We're on to Challenge 24 already over at Fetch A Sketch!  It's my turn to share a sketch this fortnight and here's what I have come up with...

I hope you like it! :)

I've carried on with the clean & simple style of yesterday's card...

The papers I've used are Echo Park 'Little Girl' as we're doing another of our digital paper swops...oh and exciting news...we have a new team member!!! Make sure you pop over to the blog to see who it is and to see the ace card she has made for this challenge!

Loving her style!

I've been loving everything that this lady here has been making recently - so I thought I'd have a little go at her white on white style!

Echo Park 'Little Girl' papers

I do love to do a bit of clean & simple!

M.E Awareness Week

I like to keep this blog about crafty stuff but today I'm taking a moment out to talk about something a bit more personal.  This week is M.E. Awareness Week and as some of you know I have suffered with the illness, with varying degrees of severity, for the last 13 years. I'm not going to go in to the ins and outs of my experiences here but, as my way of doing a little bit to promote awareness & understanding, I just want to point you in the direction of the charity ME Research UK and this article here. So much more research is needed into this illness and in the mean time all we sufferers ask for is understanding & compassion.

Normal crafty service will return soon! ;)

A Pretty Funky Birthday Invitation!

It's time for me to share my card using the current Fetch A Sketch sketch.  Here's my card...

And here's the sketch Ruth designed for us to use this fortnight...

As you can see I rotated the sketch!  The papers are all Funky Hand - I've used the 'I do' Wedding Wordbook download & the image is framed with paper from the 'I Heart You' download.  I created the scalloped frame using a circle die and cut out part of the balloon so that it sits over the frame.  The image is by our other sponsor for this challenge, A Day For Daisies, and is called 'Birthday Invitation' - she reminds me of photos of my mum when she was a little girl in the 50's, except my mum had much darker hair!  I've coloured her with Promarkers.  I finished the card with some metal dots & some doodling.

A Funky Sentimental Card!

It's my turn to share my Get Funky challenge card with you and this month is all about the sentiment...

I've used the Funky Freebie for my card (which you can get here).  Both the sentiment & the paper came from the freebie.  I die cut the circles for the flowers and scrunched them up to make them shabby.  Then I added the brads & bling.  I think maybe I made this card a little bit too blingy for a 'thinking of you' card.....oh well! ;)

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 22!

We have a new sketch up over at Fetch A Sketch - this one's been designed by me!

And here's my card...

I've used the Little Winter Penguin image by Bugaboo Stamps who are our sponsors for this challenge.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and have used some paper from the Circa 1934 paper pack by Cosmo Cricket as the background.  I just added a few bits of bling to finish. Some of you will be amazed to see a Christmas card from me in April - there's a first time for everything!

I hope you enjoy my sketch!  See you over at Fetch A Sketch!

Fetch A Sketch Midway Extra!

It's the midway point between challenges over at Fetch A Sketch - the time where we like to share a little extra inspiration with you!  Here's a reminder of the sketch we've been using this fortnight...

Another fantastic sketch by Ruth!  Here's my card...

I've used the 'Bobby - Sleeping Bear' image from Crafty Sentiments coloured with Promarkers.  The stripy paper & Alpha-bits are Funky Hand (psst...there's a Big Easter Sale on over there right now!!!) and the scalloped circle is by Craftwork cards.  A very simple & quick 'get well' card!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 21!

We have a new sketch up over at Fetch A Sketch - Ruth has designed this fab one for us...

And here's my card...

I've used the 'Summer Pat' image by Crafty Sentiments who are our sponsors for this challenge.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and have used some heart Funky Hand paper from the I Heart You download.  The stripy paper is also Funky Hand but is from my scraps folder so I'm not sure which CD/download it's from! The scalloped square is by Craftwork Cards.

Fetch a Sketch Midway Make!

I'm back with another card using the current sketch over at Fetch A Sketch...

I designed this one so I hope you're liking it!  If you do have a play with it remember to add your link to the Fetch A Sketch blog so we can come and have a look - and you may even win one of our sponsor prizes too!  This fortnight we are sponsored by the Digi Doodle shop and I've used their 'Flower Bouquet' image in my card...

I've paper pieced the image on to kraft card using papers from the Wedding Wordbook download by Funky Hand.  The punched circles & the background are also from that download and I coloured the leaves and the flower basket with Promarkers.  I added some doodling & pearls to finish.

A Funky Spring Blog Hop!

Hello there! Welcome to another stop on the Funky Hand Blog Hop! I'm so pleased to have you 'hopping' by! You should have reached me from Lou's wonderful blog but if you're lost, or haven't a clue what I'm talking about, then head on over to Anice's blog to find your way or to find out what all the fuss is about!

We're celebrating the release of a brand new download over at Funky Hand.  It's called 'Spring Has Sprung' and is so fresh and lovely!  It's got papers in pastel colours with patterns like flowers, butterflies, stripes & checks (to name just a few!), all with the usual funky and fun twist you always get from Funky Hand!

You can get your hands on this download on Sunday (25th March) over at the Funky Hand website.

Each of the design team members taking part in the hop are sharing something they've made using the download - let me tell you, it's well worth a visit to each & every one of them as the projects are STUNNING!  And that's without the added bonus of the chance to WIN the download!!!  To qualify for a chance you need to make sure you leave a comment on EVERY blog along the hop, collect a letter from each of these blogs and then rearrange them to make a word. Your winning guess needs to be left as a comment on Anice's blog before 9am GMT on Monday 26th March. Plus if you hop on over to the Funky Hand Facebook page you get another chance to win too!

So onto the projects I'm sharing with you. I've made a picture and three cards all from just one A4 sheet of paper from the CD - I've used my favourite (and it's hard to have a favourite they're so fab) tree paper from the download to make...

an 8x8 inch picture...

two cards...

and a further card using up the scrap strips of paper I had left...

I loved the paper so much that I wanted to show it off with only some minimal embellishments.

So, back to the hop!  The letter you need from me is...

L

Got that noted down?  Left me a comment?  Then off you 'hop' to Debs' lovely blog!

Celebrating Spring & Mothers!

We're celebrating Spring over at Get Funky this month - the challenge is to make something inspired by a celebration you have in spring - be it Easter, birthdays (mine is this week! ;)) or anniversaries etc.  I've opted to share my Mother's Day card with you (which was yesterday here in the UK!)...

I've used the fantastic Funky Freebie (yes it's free!) as the basis of my card.  I've combined the paper with some lilac chipboard letters from my stash - not a colour I use very often but I thought it sat well with the paper.  I've finished off with some bling...

Is that sun I spy in that photo?! - Spring must be here! ;)

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 20!

We've got a brand new sketch up over at Fetch A Sketch - designed by me!  Here it is...

I really hope you have fun playing with this one - can't wait to see what you make!  I made this...

I've used the 'Hoot Owl' image by our sponsors for this fortnight, The Digi Doodle Shop.  I've paper pieced the owl with papers from the Funky Hand Wedding Wordbook download....

The backing paper is the current Funky Freebie (more on that later today!) and every cloud should have a silver......pearl, don't you think? ;)

Some Extra Fetch A Sketch!

It's time for me to share another project using this fortnight's Fetch A Sketch sketch.  Here's my second card...

And here's a reminder of the sketch we're using at the moment...

I've used some lovely paper from the 'Kidding Around' section of the Dreams Come True CD by Funky Hand.  They are one of two sponsors we have on board this fortnight, the other being My Creative Classroom.  I've embellished with a lovely wooden butterfly which I bought the other week - my first crafty spend in about a year!  It came in a pack of a load of wooden shapes so you're sure to be seeing more of these on future cards!  I've added some shimmer dots & the lovely little heart stickers are by Paperchase - I use these often & will be sad when the pack is all used up!

See you over at Fetch A Sketch!
