Polka Doodles Challenge Time again!

Seriously, where do the days go??? Still, that means more lovely Polka Doodles!  And Nikky is setting the challenge this week to make a project that can be given to a male or female.  I went for a simple 'Thinking of You' card...

I've combined a background image from the Back to Nature CD with a butterfly stamp from the 'Babsie' Fairy Flutterfly stamp set. The beautiful butterfly is coloured with Gold & Silver Promarkers... totally LOVE these pens!!!

Which reminds me... hope you've all been busy colouring for the Aquamarker Competition!!! "What Aquamarker Competition???" I hear you say. Well get yourself over to the Polka Doodles challenge blog to catch up on all the details of the competiton that launched last week.  There is a MASSIVE PRIZE of a FULL SET of these...

Yes, a FULL SET of the newly relauched AQUAMARKERS could be yours! There's runner-up prizes too, so it's one not to miss!

And while you're there (& before you get colouring!) take some time to view Nikky's fab colouring tutorial. Plus, make sure you check out the other Design Team creations.  I'm in awe of what these ladies make each week!

Christmas in July & news of a MEGA COMPETITION!

Polka Doodles challenge time & it's Christmas in July...

This week I decided to use up some leftover pieces from all the samples we made for the Create and Craft shows.  I came up with this little festive mantelpiece, complete with mini Christmas cards!

The matelpiece is part of the 'Fireside Cheer' card components on the new Paper Boutique Vol II & I've just used the top 'wooden' pieces & decoupaged them. I used elements from patterned paper from the same CD to make the bow garland.... the stripey loops are actually the tops of candy canes!

I just love the little soldier image & how he can be found in all different sizes on the CD, these little guys came from some patterned paper leftovers...

I even managed to use a leftover soldier decoupage element on one of the mini cards... the half circle card is actually a folded soldiers head!  If you look closely you can see part of one of his eyes!!!

Hope you can play along with us this week....and if you need some inspiration check out the other Design Team creations hereAND head on over there too to get more info on our FABULOUS COMPETITION to WIN some FANTASTIC PRIZES courtesy of LETRASET!!! You've got to be in it to win it!

Need a hug?

Well here's Babsie Fairy Flutterfly offering some!

The challenge this week at Polka Doodles is to create your image, background & sentiment with stamps.  I opted to paper piece Babsie with various plain papers.  Her top & socks are made from red Polka Doodles paper overstamped with white flowers from her stamp set...

And I added some glitter to her scarf & bow, as well as some tiny Papermania shimmer dots to the end of her scarf..

I just love those boots!

The background paper was created by stamping the larger flower from the Babsie set onto Bazzill card in white ink. Then I used the same flower to make the embellishment which I popped up on some 3d foam.  The sentiment was made by cutting up the sentiment from the same set as well as the sentiment from the Meeshelle set & using the relevent letters...

Hope you can play along with us this week! And remember, Polka Doodles will be exhibiting at the Doncaster Summer Crafting Event this weekend (Sat 17th and Sun 18th July) - Nikky (The Boss) would love you to pop by & say hello - PLUS there are LOADS of brand new exclusive products which will be launched at the show & from the sneak peaks I've had, I'd highly recommend you take a look! :)

Also, more exciting news this week... put Friday 23rd July in your diary as the Polka Doodles challenge blog  will be hosting a MEGA competition!!!  I know what it is, and I'm not allowed to say too much, but it's definately one you won't want to miss!  Bit miffed I can't enter to be honest! ;)  We have some fantastic prizes to giveaway in conjunction with a leading UK manufacturer, so make sure you check it out!

Opulence.

That's the word that spings to mind with this chandelier digi-image by the ever so talented Kirsty...

Kirsty Wiseman Image; American Krafts ribbon; SU Kraft card; SEI acrylic frame.

Isn't the detail on this image wonderful!

I even threaded the ribbon behind the chain to keep the image intact...

And the acrylic frame adds some dimension...

Summer Fun!

Enfys has set the challenge this week over at Polka Doodles as a summer theme.  So I put together a bowl of scrummylish delish strawberries!

Tim Holtz Pin; Brad from jenro

All the papers & elements came from the fabulous Candy Doodles CD except the pink frame which came from the equally fabulous All Around & Everywhere CD.  The lovely little butterfly is part of the Meeshelle Fairy Flutterfly stamp set. Don't forget you can get hold of all Polka Doodles products on the website. Hope you can play along with us this week too.

Yummy!

So it's Polka Doodles challenge time again and I think you're really going to have fun with this one... unlike me, who had one of those days where nothing went right!  But i did eventually come up with this...

All papers & template from Polka Doodles; Fushia Pebeo Touch paint.

The challenge this week is to create a decorative item, so having been using the NEW CD alot this past week I thought I'd try flipping the Christmas Pud Box template upside-down to make an Ice-cream sundae ornamental box.  The box is topped off with meringue-like paper swirls...

and a few strawberries...

The strawberries & the paper for the meringues all came from the Candy Doodles CD and were secured in place by lots & lots of silicone glue (horrible to work with, yet effective stuff!)  The swirls are made from circles like this...

And I added some strawberry sauce detail with fushia Pebeo Touch paint...

The box lid lifts out of the base, which I decorated with some spotty paper from the Paper Boutique/Creative Christmas CD & some organza ribbon.  The bows are made with a length of ribbon folded over three times & secured with a staple in the middle..

Hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.  And boy, did I have a difficult choice picking my favourites from our Father's Day/male themed entries!  You're all soooo talented!!!  Can't wait to see what you make this week!
