New Home Card.

I made this New Home card for the Craftwork Cards Ribbon challenge...

I used all of their wonderful products (the only additions being the Kraft card for the floor & clock, & the wire for the curtain rail).  I cut up & inked one of their frames for the window, cut up one of their flowers to make clock hands, made a 3d chair from 2 scalloped circles & even made a tiny cushion from ribbon wrapped round some 3d foam!

I also decorated the inside of the card with some of their card & die-cut flowers...

I think the ribbon made very cute little curtains & I'm sure I will be using this idea again!

All Sorts of Hearts & Flowers!

Here's my card for the Allsorts "Hearts & Flowers" challenge...

Bazzill Kraft Card; Queen & Co brads; SEI Rub-ons; Papercraft Inspirations heart stamp; Tim Holtz "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink; Krafters Korner wooden Heart (inked with Colorbox Maroon Chalk Ink).

I inked the wooden heart with maroon chalk ink & I mounted the flower rub-ons onto craft card & attached them to the card with some folded acetate...

I have to admit this one was a bit of a challenge... firstly, hearts & flowers TOGETHER...hmmm....just not my thing, & then I decided to make things complicated with the acetate... those flowers just wouldn't sit right!  Got there in the end though!

Match Point!

Daring Cardmakers challenge this week was as follows...

"What's the Point?  I'd like to see cards featuring points or pointers of some kind - the hands of a clock, arrows, pointing fingers, view-points, pointy stars, pointy ears (hehe), pencil points.... maybe pins and needles could also be incorporated into your designs."

Well, I happened to be listening to the tennis on the radio & ended up with this card...

Doodlebug paper; Copper Gelly Roll Sakura Pen; Jolee's tennis racket & ball; docrafts fabric topper; K&Co ribbon.

Might be stretching the brief a bit with this one!

Metal Magic Gift Box Mini Candy Giveaway

Here's the last of my projects using the Metal Magic tags & toppers I made in this post & it fits in nicely with the current challenge on Kaboodle Doodle  to make "anything but a card".

Debbi Moore Metal Magic; Basic Grey paper & chipboard tag; My Mind's Eye Stamp; K&Co ribbon.

The plastic box was leftover packaging from a mug I was given for Christmas & is just filled with tissue paper until a suitable gift & recipient is found... Oh there's an idea for a little GIVEAWAY

I will pick a winner at random to receive this little box FILLED with some crafty bits & pieces! I'll keep the contents a surprise but, off the top of my head, I'm thinking loose Prima flowers, Queen & Co brads (full pack!!!), a full pack of Making Memories ribbon, a brand new Stamps Away stamp, stickers & the like! Rest assured I will pack it FULL of goodies!

For a chance to win just leave a comment on this post before the end of January.  Become a follower & I'll enter you twice!  Current followers will get entered once automatically & twice if you leave a comment too!  Good luck!

Polkadoodles Week 2 'Love' challenge & DCM 'Hole in One' dare.

I managed to combine two challenges in this one card.  Daring Cardmakers dared us to make a card with at least one hole in it.  Polka Doodles asked us to design a 'Love' themed card.  Here's what i made...

American Crafts "Tiara Accents" Glitter Thickers; Bo-Bunny paper; Queen&Co brad.

Allsorts challenge #35 - Brown & Pink

This weeks challenge on Allsorts is to use brown & pink, here's my card...

Kraft Card; Heartwarming Vintage Cuts image & sentiment; Sassafras Lass "Daydream" Die-Cuts; Bella Blvd "Road Trip" paper.

And even though I forgot to enter Allsorts Week 34 Sketch challenge, the sketch was so good I thought I'd make a card with it anyway...

Bazzill Kraft Card; Pink Petticoat Papers; DigiStamp Boutique Image; MM Alpabet Rub-ons; DCWV ribbon; American Crafts Thickers; Copics.

The cute 'New Home' digital image is from Digi Stamp Boutique & I printed it directly onto the craft card.  I then printed it onto some green & cherry printed paper from Pink Petticoat & cut out the relevant pieces of the image before sticking them onto the Kraft card base image.  All that was needed then was some Copic colouring & some embellishing...

RUNNER-UP in Papercraft Essentials Magazine's Papercrafter of the Year 2009!!!

I've been meaning to share this BIG news with you for a while now!  I was very surprised and honoured, not to mention jumping-around-the-room excited, to be named one of nine runners-up in Papercraft Essentials Magazine's Papercrafter of the Year 2009!!!  I'm so very thrilled that my work has been recognised by such a great magazine!  Papercraft Essentials, and it's sister title Simply Cards & Papercraft, are always packed full of great inspiring ideas & new techniques, and what a thrill to be included in the top ten & to have one of my projects included in print in Issue 50, alongside all the other mega talented winners!!!

For the competition you had to design & make two cards & a third non-card project of your choosing.  So I thought I'd share my creations with you.

My paper project & the one featured in the magazine was this Notice Board...

Bazzill card; Q&Co Pearls; MM Alpahabet Rub-ons; Karen Foster Calendar Rub-ons; Blue post-it notes; Papermania stamps; Imaginisce Stamps; WR Memory Keepers Ribbon; Kars hinges; DCWV brads; Creative Imaginations Die-cut paper; Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Elements; MM Mini Hearts brads; Doodlebug jewels; EZ Rub-ons; Love Elsie Stamps; Q&Co Brads; Fiskars clear stamps; Various Inks; Various Sakura pens; A4 chipboard.

The fun vintage 'Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Elements' images were the inspiration behind this notice board & I included them with some extra stamped detailing & doodling...

I made the calendar from scratch using Imaginisce's calendar stamp (masking off the top section) & added appropriate rub-ons for each of the months...

The 'to do' list is made with half a post-it pad.  The pen-holder is made with a knotted piece of ribbon which is attached to a brad that holds the ribbon for the 'washing-line' note holder...

And I can't tell you how happy I was when the hinges worked and the whole thing stood up on its own!!!

So on to the cards...

MM Brad; Laura Ashley Brad; HOTP Crown Brad; Colorbok die cut; Brilliance Black Ink; Versa Color Raspberry ink; Q&Co pearls; MAMBI Rub-ons; Royal & Langnickel Rub-ons; LLB paper; Fiskars "Starburst" border punch; K&Co ribbon; PaperArtsy Vintage Lady Rubber Stamp; Sizzix Die-cut frame; Basic Grey Paper.

Bazzill Just The Edge; Love Elsie Self Adhesive fabric; Bazzill Dotted Swiss paper; Fancy Pants Paper; Mambly Screen Print Rub-ons; Basic Grey Die-Cuts; Q&Co Pearls; Love Elsie Ribbon; American Crafts card.

Thanks for looking & sharing in my excitement!

Daring Cardmakers January Birthstone Dare

Here's my card for the first Daring Cardmakers dare of the year...

Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Elements; American Crafts Ribbon & thickers; Stemma Diamonds paper.

The brief for the challenge was to use January's birthstone, which is garnet, to inspire your design.  I decided to take this quite literally with this rather OTT engagement card!
