Fetch A Sketch Challenge 16 Take Two!

It's the midway point of challenge 16 over at Fetch A Sketch.  It's really fun to have the challenge of making two different projects per sketch. I always try to do two very different cards! It's also interesting to design projects using your own self designed sketch - things NEVER turn out the way you imagine they will when you first draw your sketch! Here's a reminder of the sketch we're using this fortnight (designed by me!)...

Here's my 2nd card...

I've used the snowflake papers by Delicious Doodles to make my flower & some Funky Hand alpha-bits for the sentiment.  I've seen lots of cards with doilies on in blogland so I thought I'd try it too!

You can see my first 'take' on the challenge here!

This challenge is the last one for our wonderful Guest Designer for January. :(  Make sure you pop by the Fetch A Sketch blog to see what Maria has made!

Funky Blues!

It's my turn to share my Get Funky card with you and this month's challenge, set by Lou, is 'January Blues'.  Here's my funky blue card...

I've used the present digi image from Twelve Crafters Crafting & the blue background spotty paper from the Rainbow Polkadots download.  You can find out more about how I've made the card on the Get Funky blog here!  See you there! :)

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 16!

I'm not quite sure how we're on to sketch 16 already, but here we are!!!  I've designed this fortnight's offering...

I hope you like it! ;)

Here's my card...

As you can see I've rotated the sketch and, in a bid to use up my scraps, I've used some Christmas papers!  The trees are in fact the centre of the snowflakes from this paper set and I also squished one up to make the cloud as well! Once again I've tried a bit of doodling....not so sure about this attempt!  The tree trunks are coloured with simple colouring pencils.

I hope top see you over at Fetch A Sketch - I do love to see what you create with our sketches!

Love is in the air!

Well it is over at Simply Create Too!  I thought I'd join in with their Love themed challenge...

Everything you see here is Funky Hand....the papers are all from the new Funky Kraft Stash download & the little 'love' heart is from Craft The Year Away - it's one of the digi stamps and this is it in it's smallest form as it can also be resized to any size you want on the A4 workspace!  I've embellished with a few pearls & embroidery thread & added a little bit of doodling.

Some more Fetch A Sketch!

Here's my second take on the Fetch A Sketch challenge for this fortnight...

As you know, Ruth has designed this great sketch for us to play with...

For my card I've used the cute 'Poppy & Henry' image from Crafty Sentiments combined with 'Love Me Do' papers by My Mind's Eye.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added some Heidi Grace Metal Dots.  The piece of paper with the 'birds in the hot air balloon' on is the scrap left after I'd punched the circles out - I thought I'd leave in the scalloped edge rather than trim it straight!

Make sure you pop over to the Fetch A Sketch blog to see what Ruth, our Guest Designer Maria & all the other entrants have been making!

Funky Hand Blog Hop!!!

Hello there! Welcome to another stop on the Funky Hand Blog Hop! I'm so pleased to have you 'hopping' by! You should have reached me from Lou's wonderful blog but if you're lost, or haven't a clue what I'm talking about, then head on over to Anice's blog to find your way or to find out what all the fuss is about!

We're celebrating the release of TWO new downloads over at Funky Hand.  They're called 'Funky Kraft Stash' and 'Steam Funk' (how cool are those names?!).

Steam Funk

Funky Kraft Stash

You can get your hands on both of these downloads NOW over at the Funky Hand website. Funky Kraft Stash is a beautiful collection of kraft type papers with a twist of subtle pattern thrown in - just gorgeous.  Steam Funk is a Funky Hand take on the steam punk style and it has a lovely distressed vintage feel.

Each of the design team members taking part in the hop are sharing a project they've made using one or other of the downloads - let me tell you, it's well worth a visit to each & every one of them as the projects are STUNNING!  And that's without the added bonus of the chance to WIN both of the downloads!!!  To qualify for a chance you need to make sure you leave a comment on EVERY blog along the hop, collect a letter from each of these blogs and then rearrange them to make a word. Your winning guess needs to be left as a comment on Anice's blog before 12 Midnight GMT on Sunday 15th January.

So onto the project I'm sharing with you. I've made a set of notelets with the Steam Funk papers & Alpha-bits...

I reduced four of the papers from the download to A5 size in Photoshop - which gave me four different papers on one sheet (I love to save on ink!).  Remember this is something you can do very easily with any of the papers contained in the Papercraft Factory CD series as well - just play around with them in the workspace area.  My card blanks & envelopes were just a little short of A5 which gave me enough left to put some scraps together for the 'Hi' card (no waste!).  I printed the Alpha-bits on to kraft card - you all know how much I love these and these latest one's are no exception!  I've kept the embellishing simple with some purple staples, some ribbon and some teeny tiny gems.  I know these notelets aren't exactly very steam punk or grungy but I wanted to show you that the download can be used in other ways too!

So, back to the hop!  The letter you need from me is...

I

Got that noted down?  Left me a comment?  Then off you 'hop' to Amanda's lovely blog

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 15.

It's new sketch time over at Fetch A Sketch today - the weeks really do fly by! Here's the sketch Ruth has designed for us this fortnight...

And here's my card...

I've combined the Bird House image by Crafty Sentiments with some lovely papers from My Mind's Eye (I'm still working through my stash rather than buying any new stuff - this is the 'Love Me Do' collection from a few years back).  I've used my Stampin' Up 1cm circle punch and I have to say it cuts through thick double sided paper so easily! I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added some of my favourite Heidi Grace Metal Dots to the corners. You may think I've neglected the left side element of the sketch but it is there!  I've used some brown embroidery thread along the fold! ;)

Make sure you pop over to the Fetch A Sketch blog - Ruth has made a lovely card and we have a Guest Designer again this month who you are going to love!

A Funky Thank You!

This month over at Get Funky we've been making and sharing 'Thank You' projects.  Here's the card I made for the challenge...

I've used this month's Funky Freebie in two different sizes...

I've layered the letters up with 3d foam.  The flower is from the Shabby Saturday Download and I've just added a button, some ribbon and doodled stitches.  I have to say it's been very refreshing using pastels instead of all the reds & greens of Christmas!

Fetching a sketch for the New Year!

Happy New Year!!! :)

My first post of the year is, rather fittingly, a Fetch A Sketch one!  Starting up the challenge blog with Ruth has to be one of my most fun & exciting crafty accomplishments from the year just gone!  We have lots of great sketches (and some great sponsors too!) coming up in 2012!  I can't wait!

Here's my 2nd take on the current sketch...

I've used the flowers from the Shabby Saturday download from Funky Hand and layered them up with some Poundland bling! The rest is all hand doodled by me....I think I got a bit too carried away with the leaves but I'm quite happy with how the border turned out! I doodled all the borders on my Christmas cards this year (I forgot to take a picture in all the rush) and I think it's true what they say...practise does make you better at things! ;)

Make sure you take some time this new year to fetch some sketches with us! It'll be fun! ;)
