Fetch A Sketch Challenge 10

It's new sketch time over at Fetch A Sketch!  I've designed this fortnight's offering...

I hope you like it!

I've opted for a simple Christmas make this time as even I have to admit that it's now time I got cracking on some!

I've used the holly image and the snowflake paper from Delicious Doodles. I've coloured the image with Aquamarkers...I really don't think I've got to grips with these yet though.

Whilst I pootled around the Funky Hand blog hop over the weekend I noticed a lot of sparkley twine being used by my fellow design team members....could this be a new trend I've spotted?  So I thought I'd pop some on my card too!

I do hope you can come along and play with us over at Fetch A Sketch...I love popping by all your blogs to see what you've made!

Funky Hand Blog Hop!!!

Hello there and welcome to another stop on the Funky Hand blog hop!  I'm so pleased to have you 'hopping' by!  You should have reached me from Paula's blog but if you're lost, or haven't a clue what I'm talking about, then head back to Anice's blog to find your way or to find out what all the fuss is about!

We're celebrating the release of the brand new Papercraft Factory CD...Twelve Crafter's Crafting (how ace is that name?!).  You can pre-order it now from the website ... official launch on 5th November.  Each of the people along the hop are showcasing one of the twelve paper collections from the Christmas themed CD....so you should be getting a good preview of what the CD has to offer!  On top of the paper collections there are masses of digi stamps, templates and all the usual fantastic features like the wordbook creator.

So, I've been having a play with the 'All I Want' paper collection which is a very traditional combination or reds, browns, greys and blacks. Here's what I have to show you today...here's the 'before' picture...

And the 'after' picture...

I've found that this particular collection goes so well with kraft card and I also made the pouches with pearlescent paper which I found to be super effective as well!  For this card I've used some leftover pieces from a wordbook (got to use up all those scraps!) which gives the papers a nice coloured border.  The pouches are so simple to do.  I followed the instructions here. They're so cute and can be made in any size...perfect for those little Xmas treats!

The next stop on the hop from here is Katina's blog. Remember to qualify for entry to win a copy of the Twelve Crafter's Crafting CD you need to leave a comment on EVERY blog on the way, collect a letter from each blog and rearrange them to make a phrase.  Your winning guess needs to be left on Anice's blog before 12 Midnight on Sunday 30th October.

The letter you need from me is...

T

Got that noted down?  Left me a comment?  Then off you 'hop' to Katina's blog

Thanks for 'hopping' by!

Cheers & Crimbo Crackers!

Just popping in to share this quick but large card...this is an 8x8inch!  The image (pre-coloured) and the paper are Funky Hand from the Happy Happy Birthday CD.  I love how with Papercraft Factory the images can be tiny or massive with no loss of clarity....genius!

I also wanted to point you in the direction of a brand new challenge blog, Crimbo Crackers.  It's being started by my Fetch A Sketch co-owner Ruth (I seriously don't know where she steals her time from, but I want some!).  If you're anything like me it's just what you need right about now to get your Christmas cards ready to go!

An envelope convert!

Although I make cards I rarely make envelopes... it's just not my thing...well, until now!

The Happy Happy Birthday CD by Funky Hand has a envelope template on it and it's surprisingly easy to do!  All this needed was a few extra embellishments from the same CD, some Alpha-Bits and it was done!

Speaking of Funky Hand....much is going on 'behind the scenes' with Anice's Funky Elves (that's us on the design team!).  We are working away on samples using the brand new Christmas CD.  All very TOP SECRET so shhhhh....BUT there will be a chance to feast your eyes on some sneak peeks AND the chance to win a copy of the new CD this coming Saturday as we're having a BLOG HOP!  It all kicks off over at Anice's blog at 9am GMT (Saturday 29th October).  Hope to see you then!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 9 Extra!

It's the midway point over at Fetch A Sketch so it's time for some more makes from Ruth and I!  Head over to the challenge blog to see what Ruth has made, see what prize is on offer and to get a reminder of the sketch for this fortnight!

Here's my 2nd card for this challenge...

I really enjoyed using Ruth's sketch again and I've opted for another halloween image from Bonibleaux Designs.  I've used the Witchy Poo Hat.

I covered the hat with black glitter & coloured the band & buckle with Promarkers. The orange background is done with 'Spiced Marmalade' Distress Ink & a blending tool. The sentiment is from this set and I coloured it with lime green Promarker.

I also used... Sassafras grid paper, Jillibean Soup black papers, Ribbon Girl twine, Craftwork Cards scalloped square & brads.

There's still plenty of time to come and play along with us - the challenge closes Sunday 30th October at 12 Noon GMT.

You're Spook-tacular!

It's challenge 9 time over at Fetch A Sketch - it only seems like yesterday that Ruth and I started on this adventure of having our own challenge blog!  We were super delighted to have such a lot of you play along for the last challenge!  Welcome to all you new peeps who've come to join in the fun! My card this week is (obviously) Halloween again.  It's not something I really 'celebrate' as such, but I do like how refreshing it is to make some different & spooky paper projects.

We have Bonibleaux Designs/Dude Time Doodles sponsoring us this week and you can get your hands on some awesome Halloween themed images (including the pumpkin above) over at the store here.  And this fortnight's sketch is designed by Ruth and is another fabby one to use!

Please remember that we're happy for you to flip or rotate the sketch and add in any extra embellishments or sentiments that you wish.  You can also make any kind of project.

I've rotated the sketch for my card and used the 'Jack O'Lantern' image coloured with Promarkers. I inked the area around the pumpkin with 'Shabby Shutters' Tim Holtz Distress Ink using a blending tool. The sentiment is from the set here, and I coloured it with matching orange Promarkers before cutting it up.  I've used Sassafras paper, a Reminisce Die Cut Sticker, Craftwork Cards scalloped circle, Ribbon Girl Twine & sequins.

I hope you can come along and play with us over at Fetch A Sketch... and have a 'spook-tacular' day!

Some Spooktacular Extra Fetch A Sketch!

It's midway point over at Fetch A Sketch and so I have an extra card to show you...

The image is by Tiddly Inks and is called 'Batty Bugg' and you can find her in the Bargain Basement here! I've coloured her with Promarkers and layered her on to My Mind's Eye 'Quite Contrary' paper.  I've added the obligatory twine and some bubble stickers (the circles are MOD Design & the sentiment is Studio G).  I've rotated the sketch and I have to admit to adding to it a little bit with the sentiment!  As a reminder here's the sketch...

Pop on over to Fetch A Sketch to play along...you could win $10 Gift Certificate for Tiddly Inks!!!
