Funky Polkadots & Flowers!

It's time for me to share my Get Funky make with you - this month is all about polkadots & flowers...

I've used elements from the brand new CD which is to be released tomorrow (Thursday 31st May) over at Funky Hand - the spotty paper, the blue patterned paper & the templates for the flowers are all on the Wishes & Kisses CD.  All I needed then was some bling!

I'm really loving the new CD and this month's challenge has been fun too. Fancy entering? Get yourself over to Get Funky for all the details!

Fetch A Sketch does Echo Park.

It's the 2nd part of our paper pack challenge over at Fetch A Sketch this week - Ruth & I have challenged the design team (yes we now have a TEAM!  Hello Lou!!!) to use 2 different Echo Park paper packs with this fortnight's sketch...

Last week we used the Little Girl paper pack and this week we've been using the Splash paper pack.  Here's my card...

Yes, more clean & simple this week!  I thought the three lines of waves would be ok for the three lines on the sketch and I hand cut my own little sailing boat. I had intended this card have the two layers of white card like I've been making recently but I went & stuck the paper on the base card without thinking so had to opt for a doodled frame instead.

Yellow card

I made this card for the Less Is More challenge which was to use yellow as inspiration - I totally forgot to enter it in the challenge but thought I'd still share it here!

I'm still going with the clean & simple style this week!

I hope you like it! :)

I've carried on with the clean & simple style of yesterday's card...

The papers I've used are Echo Park 'Little Girl' as we're doing another of our digital paper swops...oh and exciting news...we have a new team member!!! Make sure you pop over to the blog to see who it is and to see the ace card she has made for this challenge!

Loving her style!

I've been loving everything that this lady here has been making recently - so I thought I'd have a little go at her white on white style!

I do love to do a bit of clean & simple!

M.E Awareness Week

I like to keep this blog about crafty stuff but today I'm taking a moment out to talk about something a bit more personal.  This week is M.E. Awareness Week and as some of you know I have suffered with the illness, with varying degrees of severity, for the last 13 years. I'm not going to go in to the ins and outs of my experiences here but, as my way of doing a little bit to promote awareness & understanding, I just want to point you in the direction of the charity ME Research UK and this article here. So much more research is needed into this illness and in the mean time all we sufferers ask for is understanding & compassion.

Normal crafty service will return soon! ;)

A Pretty Funky Birthday Invitation!

It's time for me to share my card using the current Fetch A Sketch sketch.  Here's my card...

And here's the sketch Ruth designed for us to use this fortnight...

As you can see I rotated the sketch!  The papers are all Funky Hand - I've used the 'I do' Wedding Wordbook download & the image is framed with paper from the 'I Heart You' download.  I created the scalloped frame using a circle die and cut out part of the balloon so that it sits over the frame.  The image is by our other sponsor for this challenge, A Day For Daisies, and is called 'Birthday Invitation' - she reminds me of photos of my mum when she was a little girl in the 50's, except my mum had much darker hair!  I've coloured her with Promarkers.  I finished the card with some metal dots & some doodling.

A Funky Sentimental Card!

It's my turn to share my Get Funky challenge card with you and this month is all about the sentiment...

I've used the Funky Freebie for my card (which you can get here).  Both the sentiment & the paper came from the freebie.  I die cut the circles for the flowers and scrunched them up to make them shabby.  Then I added the brads & bling.  I think maybe I made this card a little bit too blingy for a 'thinking of you' card.....oh well! ;)
