My Favourite card!

This is my current "I like it so much, I can't bear to give it away" card!!!

We R Memory Keepers Ribbon; Fancy Pants pins; EK Success Script stamp; K&Co Amy Butler "Lotus Floral" Clear flower stamp; Bazzil Bling card; Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Ink; Versa Magic Chalk Ink pad; Debbi Moore red embossing powder; Sassafras Lass "Sweet Marmalade" Wee Bundle paper pad ; Craftwork Cards scalloped oval.

The central panel is made by stamping & embossing the script stamp onto white card with red embossing powder, then going over with "Sahara Sand" Chalk Ink.  The edges are then torn & inked with Tim Holtz "Walnut Stain" ink.

The flower is made by stamping the image onto some patterned paper twice, then cutting the central piece out from one of these images and layering it on the other with 3d foam.

Square Gemstone Card

I thought I'd continue to show you how great the Stamptivity stamps are on shrink plastic. 

Stamptivity Gemstone stamp; black shrink plastic; white StazOn ink; Love Elsie Ribbon; K&Co flower; Queen & Co pearls; Blonde Moments paper.

The embellishment on this card uses a large Gemstone stamp that I'm not sure is available anymore, but the square stamp on the Gemstone Set available from Debbi Moore would work just as well.

Purple Gemstone Card

This is another card I made for Stamptivity ...

Stamptivity Gemstone Stamp; Shrink Plastic; Queen & Co Felt Ribbon & Pearls.

For the embellishments... I stamped the Gemstone stamp onto clear shrink plastic with white StazOn ink, then cut closely around the shape, before heating & shrinking (following manufacturer's instructions) & attaching the finished pieces to the card with glue dots.

There's a bit of a knack to getting this right as the stamp tends to slip on the plastic...several of my first attempts went in the bin!  I recommend sanding the plastic & don't worry too much as any inperfections are less obvious when shrunk!

Pin Cushion

No new cards or projects to share with you today... I have a stack of cards & projects waiting to be photographed when I get a chance to do it in some decent light!  So instead I thought I'd show you a project from last year, but still one that I haven't blogged before.  It's a little pin cushion I made for Stamptivity (who are now available exclusively through Debbi Moore )...

I used one of the stamps from their beautiful Gemstone Stamp Set . I stamped the square gemstone design directly onto the felt (from Lupin), then hand stitched over this with a simple back stitch.  As you can see, it's mounted onto a slightly larger piece of felt by machine stitching 3 sides before stuffing & sewing up the final side. 

I've noticed a lot of stitching effects on cards on other blogs recently & this idea could be adapted for that; either by attaching the felt to the card or by stitching directly onto card.

Metal Magic.

I've been having a play with Debbi Moore's Metal Magic...

I found that three layers worked best for these My Mind's Eye stamps.

I used some Basic Grey chipboard tags for the base of these...

Then tried some scraps of Kraft card...

Watch out for these on some cards in the next few days!

Boy or girl?

Not much explanation needed for today's post...ANOTHER 4"x4" pizza box style notelet box!  These are so easy to make and are a great gift...

Craftwork Cards Pink & Gold card; Papermania paper; Dovecraft brads; DCWV Ribbon.

I've used some scalloped scissors for the borders (still not bought any nesties!), then embossed inside the edges.

Precious Baby

This card took minutes to make with some pre-made embellishments...as much as I like to make my own embellishments, sometimes you need a card to be done in a flash!
