Polka Doodles Hidden Element.

New challenge time over at Polka Doodles again today & this week's all about hidden elements...

I've made this card which also doubles up as a CD case.  The CD is hidden inside a sleeve at the side of the card, secured in place by the ribbon...

The inside of the card looks like this...

And the back...

All the papers & elements came from the sensational new CD Sundae of Seasons.  All of Nikky's CDs are truely wonderful but I think this one has to be my favourite to date.  Jam packed full of beautiful, fun & funky designs for all seasons & all occasions. I've used some more of the papers to decorate the CD itself...

Hope you can play along with us this week...I'm looking forward to seeing some very clever hidden elements when I come visiting your blogs!

Quick Cards with Fragments.

Just thought I'd share some very quick cards with you today...

I just took some scraps of paper, added some rub-ons & attached Tim Holtz fragments with Glossy Accents. Simple yet effective!

And the close-ups...

Oops...

I'm a little bit late sharing my Polka Doodles card this week...it's been one of those weeks!  This weeks challenge is set by Brenda & it's to make an Easel Card...

Most of the design team (and myself!) opted to use papers from the NEW CD this week which really is testament to how ACE it is!  Nikky will be launching SUNDAE OF SEASONS on Create & Craft TV tomorrow (Monday 20th Sept) at 10am so be sure not to miss out.  If you can't catch the show you can pre-order your copy on the Polka Doodles website & while you're there make sure you check out what wonderful creations can be made with the CD in the Gallery.

This CD really is packed full of wonderful elements & the sentiments section is one of my faves...

The CD is divided into seasons & I've used Autumn for my card. I really didn't need to add much to Nikky's images except some mosaics, staples, 3d foam & Glossy Accents...

And Girls, don't you just adore those red shoes???  I had a pair of these when I was little & I have a pair of suede ones now! :)

Sunny Days

Thought I'd better share this one before those sunny days really are over for another year!

Chatterbox Flowers; October Afternoon Cardstock Stickers; Stampin'Up Kraft Card.

I added extra embossing to the paper flower & also inked up a doily.  I seem to have a thing about hot pink at the moment!

Polka Doodles Sketch Recipe Challenge

I'm back after a little summer break & straight into the Polka Doodles challenge.  This week we all have a recipe to follow...

Use this sketch.
 Flap to be shaped.
No Fabric Ribbon.
Use 3 brads.

And here's what i made...

I rotated the sketch & created a shape to the flap with the sentiment panel & the Polly image, but otherwise kept things quite simple.

I've used three very tiny brads.  One on the cat's nose, one on Polly's shoe & one on the door of the house.  All the elements came from the Candy Doodles CD except the house which is on All Around & Everywhere.

The design team have been working on samples for THE NEW CD so keep your eyes peeled on the Polka Doodles blog for details of the release date. Nikky has produced another cracking CD, you won't want to miss out on this one!

Vintage Style with Polka Doodles.

It's vintage style this week over at Polka Doodles...

I've used the vintage rose paper from the Love & Cherish CD again this week, mounted onto Kraft Card.  The glitter circle is a tag that came off one of last year's Xmas pressies & the sentiment comes from the Back to Nature CD.  The butterflies were made using a stamp from the 'Babsie' Fairy Flutterfly stamp set, inked onto the back of some gold card & cut out.  I folded their wings forward & glued them onto the card with a hot glue gun (my new must have tool!).

Polka Doodles Challenge 32

This week Stacey has set us the challenge to print onto vellum or acetate.  Here's what I've made....

This box frame was surprisingly simple to make (if you minus the failed attempts at printing onto ordinary acetate, the calls to a friend who advised me I needed special acetate for printing on & the trip to the stationers).

The rose paper & the heart image come from the Love & Cherish CD.  The rose paper sits towards the back of the box frame whereas the acetate sits towards the front.  I did this by making the acetate into a box lid shape which sits inside the frame.
