Colour challenge.

I'm a bit late with my CAS-tastic card this week...I'll just get it entered before the deadline. Good job these clean & simple cards can be made super quickly!  This week was a colour challenge... Blue, Yellow & a Neutral.  Here's what i made...

Papermania stickers, rub-ons & brad; MIC ribbon.

I've printed her onto various plain & patterned paper before piecing her together.

Just LOVE those little boots!

Special mention to my blog friend from 'across the pond', JennRo, for providing me with the perfect flowers & bling for this card. Thank you!

Polka Doodles Crazy!

Phew! It's been quite a week for all of us Polka Doodles design team members... busy, busy, busy....making some samples for the NEW CD (more on that later).  First up, it's challenge time again!  This week Brenda has asked us all to join her in celebrating several family birthdays by making 'Something for a Boy's Birthday'...

I opted for a design for a little lad with the cute car Stampie from the Candy Doodles CD, coloured with gel pens & popped up on some 3d foam.

I even dusted off my childrens badgemaker & made a little age badge, attached to the card with black 3d foam...

All the wondeful paper elements came straight from the Candy Doodles CD except for the frames which you can find on the All Around & Everywhere CD.  Don't forget, you can find all of the Polka Doodle CD's, plus some other fab supplies on the Polka Doodles website AND make sure you tune in to Create & Craft on Sunday 27th June at 2pm to see Nikky launch the BRAND NEW CD 'Paper Boutique Volume II - Creative Christmas'.
As a new DT member I got to have a little advance play with the CD & IT IS FABULOUS! The first time EVER I have made Christmas cards in the middle of summer & by the end of it i was happily singing "Dashing through the Snow....." while basking in sunshine! lol.  But I know a lot of you crafters like to get started early on the festive makes...oh & I should add that many of the designs can be adapted for non-Xmas projects too!
So... make sure you tune in on Sunday, and in the meantime why not pop on over to the challenge blog & check out the other DT inspiration & join in the fun, I've been loving coming to see all of your entries & want to see more of your stunning creations!  Remember we pick our top three every week & the winner gets some Polka Doodles goodies!

Fab!

It's Polka Doodles time again & my 2nd week as part of the Design Team. This week's challenge is to create a Father's Day / male themed project.  I've gone Mod with my card...

Polka Doodles papers, topper & white letters; Love Elsie ribbon; Doodlebug red letter stickers:  Making Memories green brads.

I've used the FAB scooter topper, target paper & brick wall paper all from the wonderful Not For Girls CD.  I just love this little scooter image...

The white lettering is created by using some of the Candy Doodles Wordbook letters, re-sized to 50%.  I printed them onto good quality paper & then attached this to card.  However, I'd recommend printing directly onto card if you're going to add Glossy Accents like I did because the paper did curl! Another lesson learned too late....sigh...

The only other additions were some wonderful Love Elsie ribbon & green brads...oh & some doodled black dots...

Such a fun challenge this week.... why don't you pop on over & see the wonderful Design Team creations & why not play along with us this week....there's always a prize on offer for the winner!

Love, Love, Love.

My entry for the CAS-tastic (clean & simple) blog...

Fancy Pants buttons; My Mind's Eye die-cut.

This week's task was to use buttons.  I'm really enjoying this weekly challenge at the moment... I'm loving keeping things simple.

One, two....

My first Design Team card for Polka Doodles.  Nettie has set the challenge this week to come up with a Nursery Rhyme themed creation... what a refreshing & different challenge!
I thought Polly Polkadoodle from the Candy Doodles CD was perfect for 'One, two, buckle my shoe', sitting there with her foot out ready for help with her shoes...

I printed off a couple of copies of Polly so I could decoupage her shoes & I also added some colour to her t-shirt & shoes with a red copic (R46).  It bled a bit on the paper I used (a lesson learned!) which you can see on the pics but isn't so obvious in real life.  On the CD she comes with laces, so I changed these to a buckle using a re-sized (to 30%) Candy Ribbon Slider & I drew in the missing bit of shoe.
The wall she is sitting in front of comes from the All Around & Everywhere CD...it's on one of the stampies so I just cut off the girl image already on there!  The sentiment is some re-sized (again to 30%) Alphie Doodles.  The bunting is from a sheet of Candy Party paper.  I cut them out in pairs then drew the missing parts on with black pen.  They are mounted onto the card with 3d foam, as is the stamped butterfly image which came from the Meeshelle Fairy Flutterfly Stamp set.

And lastly I gave her some ice-cream from some Doodle Ice paper!

You really should take a look at the other wonderful Design Team creations here & why not play along with the challenge too!

Apple Tree

I'm loving this little Stampin Up Leaf stamp... it really stamps beautifully, especially with Tim Holtz Ink.

I've hand drawn the trunk of the tree with the broad end of the copic pen...

Stampin Up Kraft card & leaf stamp; Japanese paper; Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink; Dark Brown (E49) Copic pen.

Paint challenge.

Over on the Sarah's Cards blog we've been challenged to use paint on our project.  So i tried painting some of the Stampin Up twill tape & was rather pleased with the effect...

StampinUp Kraft card & twill tape; white ink; MAMBI Embellishment; Glossy Accents; Pins; Heidi Swapp "sea" paint.

I inked the edges of the card with some white ink, cut a random pattern on the top of the embellishment & added some extra gloss to the bucket & spade.  The paint made the twill tape curl, perfect for suggesting waves...

A Touch of Green

My Clean & simple (CAS-tastic infact!) challenge entry...

American Crafts Ribbon, SEI acrylic Frame, DCWV Card.

In the spirit of keeping things simple... there's not much to say about this card!  I attached the frame & the pearls with some Glossy Accents to make sure they both stayed secure. The black thread over the top of the ribbon is held in place by tucking it under the ribbon at the sides & attaching both with double-sided tape.

I really enjoyed the "Touch of Green" challenge too, not a colour I've worked with much.
